HOW TO IMPROVE PROPHETIC ABILITY

1. Study Of The Scriptures.
   
Study the Bible more and more. This will do at least three things for you. One, it helps you to know and understand God more and more. Two, it helps to awaken the Holy Spirit in you. Three, you will learn the prophetic language by so doing. Four, you will be able to learn from the efforts, attitudes, approaches, experiences and mistakes of those before you. The disciples learnt much from Jesus; likewise, Joshua from Moses; and Elisha, from Elijah.
         By Scriptures, I mean all the sacred-texts of all true religions, which books were sent down by God. Truly, I say to you that you shall be amazed when you know the Truth. And reading one holy book is not enough.


2. A Habit Of Prayerful Inquiry.
   
This is the ability and practice of inquiring from God. The inquiry usually covers what should be done; where it should be done; how it should be done; and when it should be done. Most of the time, when cases where presented to Moses, he did not handle the case as he deemed fit. He used to inquire from God before he would issue instructions. Examples are found in numbers 27:5 and 2 Samuel 5:19. Often, people are advised to pray for the spirit of inquiry or the spirit of asking questions. The spirit will help them to ascertain the meaning of prophecy, vision, dream, trance, oracle, etc, and the things therein.


3. Truthfulness.
   
The spiritual foundation of a man remains solid and divine as far as the person is truthful and honest. Lies shatter the foundation, disorganize the personality and abase the spiritual.


4. Pray For Others.
   
The more you pray for others, the more you receive messages about them. By praying for them, you concern yourself with their welfare. So, the Angels send revelations about them to you.


5. Knowledge Of Prophetic Language.
   
A good knowledge of prophetic language helps one in understanding and interpreting prophetic messages. Many do not believe in dream, not because they do not dream, but because they do not see any relationship between their dreams and the events of their life. Nebuchadnezzar could not understand that the tree he saw meant himself until Daniel interpreted it so; similarly, the Pharaoh of Egypt could not understand the meaning of the fat and lean cows until Joseph gave him the explanations. A good knowledge of prophecy is gained by studying the Bible. Also, listening to the interpretations of messages or reading books on the interpretation helps a lot.


6. A Clear Conscience.
   
Clear conscience is a great asset in receiving interpretations of messages. By clear conscience is meant: purity of the mind, joyfulness and gladness, contentment, peace of mind and absence of suspicion. Otherwise, sadness, suspicion, enmity, hatred, malice, disorder, etc affect (distort) the messages. Usually, the Holy Spirit does not abide with these negatives. And the person filled by them is prone to being misled by evil spirits.


7. Close Eyes During Prayer.
   
Closing eyes during prayer makes one to receive messages. A person should expect messages, but should not dictate them. However, when you pray for a mad person, do not close your eyes, because the mad person can become violent, unexpectedly.


8. Silent Disposition.
   
Silent disposition helps the spirit to grow without hindrance. In addition, it affords one the best situation for receiving messages, uninterruptedly. Many a clear messages are stopped or confused by noise and distractions. Too much talking, jokes, idle talks, etc debase one’s spirituality and hinders the development of the spirit of prophecy in somebody.


9. Prayer.
   
Pray without ceasing, for your spiritual talents to become fully manifest. The prayer shows God that you welcome the talents He has given you.


10. Consultation.
    
You may consult ministers and prophets of God on how to develop your spiritual talents. When there is need, especially when the time is due for a prophetic talent to manifest, the person concerned should inquire from God for directives on what to do, in order to bring about the manifestation.


11. Associate With True Ministers of God.
    
Do so, irrespective of their denominations. By so doing, your prophetic knowledge and wisdom grows.


12. Meditation.
    
When you meditate, you send signals to God. The signals are your thoughts which move as light waves to the throne of God. The thoughts bear your questions, doubts, desires, expectations, etc. God responds by sending the Holy Spirit. The light of the Holy Spirit bears all answers and solutions to your needs. The promise of the Father was that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will leads (teach) us into all Truth. The Holy Spirit does exactly that, always. God never left us like orphans.


13. Washing Of Head, Face, Hands and Feet.
    
By washing, all the forces of darkness covering our destinies and stars are nullified and washed away, just as water is used to wash away dirt from the clothes. The Father gave us an example, and commanded us to do so. As such it should be our delight to do so, as often as is necessary. Every true minister shall do so with joy. By washing the feet of the Apostles, Jesus not only taught us humility, but also purified the seven spiritual centers (Endocrine System) in their bodies and endowed them with the Holy Spirit, for Victory, to the glory of the Father.
